VISIA® Skin Analysis in Brussels: A Clearer View of the Skin at House of Glow

News

Some skin concerns are visible at first glance. Others develop beneath the surface, long before they can be seen in the mirror.

VISIA® skin analysis is now available at House of Glow. This technology gives Dr. Gijsen and Nurse Julitta a clearer view of the skin, beyond the surface, so every treatment plan starts from a precise assessment.

What is VISIA®?

VISIA® is an advanced skin analysis system developed by Canfield Scientific. Its capture module moves around your face to take high-resolution images from the front and both sides, under three types of light: standard, cross-polarised and UV. The skin surface can also be viewed in 3D, from any angle.

Each type of light reveals different information. Together, they show features on the surface of the skin and just beneath it, which are difficult to assess with the naked eye.

The images are analysed by the VISIA® software and reviewed with you during a consultation.

What Does VISIA® Analyse?

VISIA® maps eight key skin features:

  • Spots: brown or red marks visible on the surface of the skin
  • Wrinkles: lines and folds linked to sun exposure and loss of elasticity
  • Texture: variations in the smoothness of the skin surface
  • Pores: the size and distribution of visible pores
  • UV spots: sun damage beneath the surface, not yet visible to the eye
  • Brown spots: pigmentation on and below the surface
  • Red areas: concentrations of redness, which can relate to inflammation or visible vessels
  • Porphyrins: bacterial by-products that can lodge in the pores

RBX® technology separates the red and brown components of the skin, showing redness and pigmentation more clearly.

How Does the Scan Work?

The scan is quick, non-invasive and comfortable.

  • Your skin is cleansed, without make-up.
  • You place your face in the VISIA® capture module.
  • The module moves around your face and takes images from the front and both sides, under the three types of light.
  • The software analyses the images and maps each of the eight features.
  • We review the results with you and discuss your priorities.

Why It Matters for Your Treatment Plan

A precise understanding of the skin helps us choose the right approach for each concern.

The VISIA® analysis allows us to:

  • Identify what the eye cannot always see
  • Prioritise the concerns that matter most to you
  • Select the most appropriate treatments and settings
  • Explain clearly what we see and why we recommend a treatment

It is part of our approach to Skin Health & Conscious Aesthetic Care: understand the skin first, then treat it.

Following Your Skin Over Time

A precise positioning grid ensures that each scan is taken from exactly the same position. Your diagnostic and evaluation scans can then be compared in detail, so we can closely follow the evolution of your skin and adjust your treatment plan if needed.

A VISIA® scan can be booked separately, but is also automatically included at the start and end of our laser protocols, our Skin Resurfacing Protocol, Microneedling and Medical Peelings.

Medical and Aesthetic Laser Treatments in Brussels: Advanced Skin Rejuvenation at House of Glow

News

Healthier, smoother and more radiant skin is one of the most requested goals in aesthetic medicine today.
If you are looking for a precise, non-surgical solution to improve skin quality, target specific concerns and stimulate natural skin renewal, Fotona® laser treatments may be an ideal option.

What are Fotona® Laser Treatments?

At House of Glow, we work with the Fotona® SP Dynamis Max, an advanced multi-application medical laser platform combining Nd:YAG and Er:YAG laser technologies.

This allows us to treat a wide range of medical and aesthetic skin concerns with a personalised approach.

Laser treatments can help improve:

— Fine lines
— Enlarged pores
— Uneven skin texture
— Skin laxity
— Acne scars
— Post-surgical or traumatic scars
— Diffuse facial redness
— Visible blood vessels
— Pigmentation and sun damage
— Unwanted hair
— Selected benign skin lesions

The goal is to improve skin quality progressively while preserving a natural, refined result.

Fotona® laser treatment of the face at House of Glow

Unlike one-size-fits-all aesthetic treatments, Fotona® laser technology allows us to adjust the treatment according to the skin concern, treatment area and desired result.

How Do Fotona® Laser Treatments Work?

Laser therapy works by delivering controlled light-based energy into specific layers of the skin.

At House of Glow, we use two complementary medical laser technologies:

— Nd:YAG laser, which targets deeper structures such as blood vessels, hair follicles, collagen fibers and deeper skin layers.
— Er:YAG laser, which focuses on superficial skin resurfacing, texture improvement and superficial collagen stimulation.

Depending on the indication, the laser energy can stimulate collagen production for skin tightening and lifting, improve skin texture, reduce redness, target pigmentation or treat unwanted hair.

Because each skin concern requires a different approach, every treatment is customised after a medical consultation.

Benefits of Fotona® Laser Treatments

Patients choose laser treatments because they offer multiple aesthetic benefits:

— Precise, targeted treatment
— Improved skin texture and radiance
— Collagen stimulation
— Treatment of several skin concerns
— Non-surgical approach
— Personalised settings depending on skin type and indication
— Natural-looking improvement over time

For many patients, laser treatments are an excellent way to refresh the skin, improve specific concerns and support long-term skin quality, without injectables or surgery.

Are Laser Treatments Right for You?

Laser treatments may be suitable for everyone who wants to improve skin quality or treat a specific aesthetic concern without injectables or surgery.

Typical concerns include:

— Uneven skin tone or texture
— Enlarged pores
— Fine lines
— Redness or visible vessels
— Pigmentation or sun damage
— Acne scars or other scars
— Loss of firmness
— Unwanted hair

A personalised consultation at House of Glow in Brussels helps determine which laser protocol is most appropriate for your skin, your goals and your lifestyle.

What to Expect During Treatment

A laser session usually lasts between 20 and 60 minutes, depending on the procedure and the area treated.

Before treatment, the skin is cleansed and prepared. Depending on the indication, cooling or a topical anaesthetic may be applied to improve comfort.

Most patients describe the sensation as mild to moderate heat, tingling or a snapping feeling on the skin. The intensity depends on the type of laser treatment performed.

Results and Recovery

Recovery time varies depending on the treatment.

Some laser procedures allow you to return to daily life immediately, while others may involve a few days of redness, warmth, swelling or peeling of the skin.

Results may appear gradually as the skin heals and collagen production increases. Some improvements can be visible quickly, while others continue to develop over the following weeks and months.

Many laser treatments are best performed during autumn and winter, when sun exposure is limited. However, certain indications can be treated throughout the year.
